AMR Awareness Walk and Community Engagement
November 20, 2025 | University of Ibadan to Bodija Market.
On November 20, 2025, an AMR Awareness Walk took the conversation on antimicrobial resistance directly to the streets and communities of Ibadan, in partnership with The Medics Talk Show, University of Ibadan AMR club and Wellness and Life Foundation. The walk commenced at the University of Ibadan main gate and concluded at Bodija Market, with 20 participants carrying placards displaying clear AMR messages to capture public attention. Along the route, pamphlets were distributed to motorists, pedestrians, and commuters, and light environmental sanitation activities were carried out — reinforcing the link between environmental hygiene, infection prevention, and reduced reliance on antibiotics. At Bodija Market, the team engaged market women and traders through a brief sensitization session delivered in a local language to enhance understanding, followed by an interactive AMR quiz. Participants who answered correctly received hand sanitizers and branded key holders as incentives and reminders of the lessons shared.
